Event Description

The purpose of this 1.5-day workshop is to enhance capacity in the Asia-Pacific to protect business, trade and economic growth, as well as communities, from disruption caused by disasters. This workshop will not teach participants Business Continuity Planning (BCP) methodology, but instead focus on strengthening public-private partnership capacity for emergency preparedness and BCP by sharing information and experiences through case studies, and identifying practices, guidance, programs, tools, training, standards, organizations, and industry associations that exist in the Asia-Pacific region for private sector preparedness and BCP. The workshop may be followed by a half-day field trip to the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
